Our nannies & standards
We hire for warmth first. Then we check everything. Every nanny on the team has been through the same process, whether she has been with us five years or five weeks.
Qualifications
CACHE Level 3 and above
Most of the team hold a Level 3 in childcare or early years, and a few have degrees. All of it is recognised in the UK and the UAE.
Montessori and EYTS
Our senior nannies are Montessori trained or hold Early Years Teacher Status. It is why the activity suites feel less like a creche and more like a classroom on holiday.
Paediatric first aid
Everyone has a current paediatric first aid certificate. We keep the expiry dates in a spreadsheet and nobody works an event with a lapsed one.
Safeguarding trained
Safeguarding training is refreshed every year, and we go back through our own procedures together before each wedding season.
Vetting
- An enhanced DBS check, or the police clearance from the country she comes from
- UAE right to work and ID, checked by us rather than just the agency
- Two references, and we actually phone them
- An interview in person, then a trial shift alongside one of our leads
- Public liability and professional indemnity insurance covering every event
Safeguarding
- Two adults with the children at all times. No exceptions, not even for a quick bathroom trip
- You choose a collection password before the day and only someone who knows it can take a child
- Every child is signed in and out on paper, with times
- If anything happens, however small, it gets written up and you hear about it the same day
- We do not photograph children. If your photographer does, we ask the parents first
Ratios
These are the most children one nanny will ever have, and we usually staff above them. Children with additional needs get their own nanny, and a mixed age group is staffed for the youngest child in it.
